Enhanced Multicarrier Techniques for Professional Ad-Hoc and Cell-Based Communications

چکیده

This deliverable summarizes the final contributions on relaying and coverage extension. In the first part, several results of D7.1 are extended. In particular, the channel frequency selectivity is taken into account and solutions are investigated to cope with it in multi-hop relaying networks as well as in two-way relaying schemes. In the latter case, joint channel and physical layer network decoding is also included in the analysis. Performance evaluations of multi-hop relaying and two-way relaying are then presented in a few specific scenarios using the SONIR simulation tool in the first case, and using a physical layer abstraction method in the second case. Finally, the issue of resource allocation is investigated in an asynchronous decode-and-forward relaying scheme using OFDM or FBMC. A joint subcarrier and power allocation algorithm is proposed to maximize the sumrate taking into account the potential interference resulting from the asynchronism. Enhanced Multicarrier Techniques for Professional Ad-Hoc and Cell-Based Communications

This document shortly summarizes the main concepts that will be presented in deliverable D6.2. The issue of coordinated beamforming design for distributed multi-user MIMO systems using FBMC/OQAM is investigated. New methods are developed to alleviate the dimensionality constraint imposed on the number of antennas in state-of-the art solutions. Both cases of full coordination and partial coordin...

Evaluation of a BIBD Based Directional MAC Protocol for Wireless Ad Hoc Networks

The use of directional antennas in wireless ad hoc networks can significantly improve global performance due to a high spatial channel reuse. Nevertheless, its introduction poses new location dependent problems related to the MAC protocol. In this paper, the Balanced Incomplete Block Design theory has been exploited to develop a new MAC protocol for wireless ad hoc networks using directional ant...

Improving Vehicular Ad-Hoc Network Stability Using Meta-Heuristic Algorithms

Vehicular ad-hoc network (VANET) is an important component of intelligent transportation systems, in which vehicles are equipped with on-board computing and communication devices which enable vehicle-to-vehicle communication. Consequently, with regard to larger communication due to the greater number of vehicles, stability of connectivity would be a challenging problem. Clustering technique as ...

Hierarchical multicast techniques and scalability in mobile Ad Hoc networks

Many potential applications of Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANETs) involve group communications among the nodes. Multicasting is an useful operation that facilitates group communications. Efficient and scalable multicast routing in MANETs is a difficult issue. In addition to the conventional multicast routing algorithms, recent protocols have adopted the following new approaches: overlays, backbone...

A Hidden Node Aware Network Allocation Vector Management System for Multi-hop Wireless Ad hoc Networks

Many performance evaluations for IEEE 802.11distributed coordination function (DCF) have been previouslyreported in the literature. Some of them have clearly indicatedthat 802.11 MAC protocol has poor performance in multi-hopwireless ad hoc networks due to exposed and hidden nodeproblems. Although RTS/CTS transmission scheme mitigatesthese phenomena, it has not been successful in thoroughlyomit...
